01 Jun Aplast is becoming a part of a vertically-integrated producer of PVC profiles, windows and doors
EMSA Capital has the pleasure to announce it has exited its 100% shareholding in Aplast, a leading supplier of PVC windows and doors, to Extruplast, a Romanian extruder of PVC profiles.
Since EMSA’s acquisition of Aplast, the company successfully re-focused its core business from the traditional distribution model into both standard and cut-to-size segments in DIY chains. Aplast is currently the largest supplier of PVC windows to DIY chains in Romania and very close to that position in Italy.
Teaming up with Extruplast is a positive news for Aplast. As a vertically integrated group, it will be able to better compete against European competitors but mostly against imports from cheaper countries.
Cristian Tamasan, the owner and CEO of Extruplast stated: “By buying-out Aplast, our group will be able to offer customized solutions to European DIY chains. Through our ongoing cooperation with brand-name profile producers such as Veka, we will be able to provide a complete offering from standard and economy segments, as well as made-to-measure products and associated services.”
Rastislav Brabec, Director at EMSA Capital adds: “Win-win for both sides. Profile producer gets access to large institutional clients with growth potential in custom made windows segment and window producer secures price stability of the most expensive component – profiles.”
Rastislav Brabec and Tomas Holly served as interim CEO of Aplast since 2025, demonstrating EMSA Capital’s operational acumen and the ability to step-into portfolio companies when needed.
EMSA Capital is proud to have contributed to safeguarding a significant number of jobs in the region and to supporting the continued development of the company. We are pleased to hand over a well-functioning business that today provides employment for more than 250 people, while operating in line with ESG standards and principles of sustainable, responsible corporate development.
Clairfield International Austria, led by Berend Yntema, served as the M&A transaction adviser. RTPR, led by Alina Stavaru served as legal counsel in Romania. CMS Reich-Rohrwig Heinz led by Dr. Martin Zuffer served as legal adviser in Austria.
